Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced
Director Clinical Training & Education to lead all training and education efforts for our flexible endoscopy portfolio in (EMEA - Americas - APAC). This role will oversee the development of clinical, technical, and sales training programs for internal staff and external healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in endoscopy, adult learning, and the medical device industry, with a passion for improving patient outcomes through education.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Functional Responsibilities
- Lead the regional education strategy, design, and execution of clinical and product training programs related to flexible endoscopic systems and procedures, based on the overall Global strategy.
- Develop, identify and execute education objectives and strategies that align with core company strategy to strengthen brand and product awareness and increase sales efficiency.
- Develop and manage onboarding and continuing education for sales teams, clinical application specialists and distributor partners.
- Manage and support the design and implementation of educational programs and course materials from a functional perspective aligned with regional functional leaders like QARA, Compliance, IT and HRM.
- Establish and maintain training platforms, including LMS, simulation labs, and live procedural workshops.
- Measure training effectiveness using KPIs, certification outcomes, and post-training feedback; adapt strategies accordingly.
- Design physician and staff education for hospitals, ambulatory surgical centers, and GI labs to ensure safe and effective product use.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with regional Product Marketing, Sales and Compliance to ensure accuracy and relevance of training content.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485, MDR) in all training documentation and practices.
- Identify, develop and engage key opinion leaders (KOLs) for the creation of educational content and peer to peer recommendation. Ensure the content to meet clinical trends and needs and align with the product mix in focus with the PENTAX Medical selling proposition.
- Manage the Clinical Education Manager; drive performance through leadership and mentorship.
Extra Responsibilities for EMEA
- Manage the Sr Project Manger Training & Education; drive performance through leadership and mentorship.
- Responsible for the organization of the PE training center as well as the responsibility for the Animal Equipment pool.
- Identify, select and agree on 3rd party companies ensuring partnership for non PENTAX training events at the PE Training Center.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Partner with cross-functional teams including QARA, Compliance, IT and HR.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support organizational initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
Performance & Excellence
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Drive process improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Contribute to departmental and global organizational goals
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Nursing, Education, or related field; advanced degree or clinical certification (e.g., RN, GI tech, MD) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in training, clinical education, or product support in the medical device industry, with a focus on endoscopy, GI, pulmonology, or minimally invasive procedures
- 3+ years in a leadership role managing cross-functional teams or training programs.
- Strong understanding of flexible endoscopic procedures, infection control, and reprocessing protocols.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and achieve results.
- Proficiency with training technologies and tools (Showpad, LMS platforms).
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with ASC and hospital buying processes and staff structures. (for USA)
- Global training experience, including EU MDR and APAC regulatory awareness. (for EMEA and APAC).
