GCSS-Army / SAP Sustainment SME - Part Time

Employment configuration: Approximately 20 hours per week. A full-time candidate may be used when the person can also perform Power BI development, data analysis, requirements analysis, or testing.

Role: Provide authoritative Army sustainment interpretation for GCSS-Army, SAP ECC, and related G4 data. This person will translate operational questions into data requirements and validate that dashboards, applications, and models reflect Army business rules. The work uses GCSS-Army and G4 data to support decision-making on supply, maintenance, readiness, distribution, ammunition, property, and finance.

Requirements:
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • Direct hands-on GCSS-Army experience.
  • Functional Army sustainment expertise.
  • Ability to interpret data fields, transactions, statuses, relationships, and business rules.
  • Availability for recurring requirements and validation sessions.
  • Seven or more years supporting Army logistics, sustainment, maintenance, supply, property, readiness, ammunition, distribution, or financial operations.
  • Three or more years of direct GCSS-Army or SAP ECC experience.
  • Substantive experience in at least two of the following:
    • Supply and inventory.
    • Maintenance and equipment readiness.
    • Property accountability.
    • Financial management.
    • Shop stock and bench stock.
    • Distribution or transportation.
    • Ammunition or NLAC-related operations.
  • Experience reviewing GCSS-Army reports, extracts, transactions, or data for operational decision support.
  • Ability to explain source-system limitations, data timing, status codes, units of measure, organizational relationships, and business-rule exceptions.
A degree is not required where the candidate possesses strong operational and system experience.

Strong preferences
  • Former Army logistics warrant officer, senior NCO, functional analyst, ERP analyst, or sustainment data analyst.
  • Experience with GCSS-Army BI, BusinessObjects, Army Vantage, AESIP, LMP, or related reporting platforms.
  • Power BI, SQL, Excel Power Query, data mapping, or testing experience.
  • CASCOM, AMC, IMCOM, Army G-4, sustainment brigade, installation logistics, or depot experience.
  • Experience supporting system migrations, data reconciliation, or enterprise analytics.
Principal responsibilities
  • Define and validate sustainment business rules.
  • Identify authoritative GCSS-Army, SAP, NLAC, and G4 data sources.
  • Map operational questions to source fields, relationships, transactions, and measures.
  • Validate dashboard KPIs, model features, forecasts, and application workflows.
  • Reconcile discrepancies between analytical results and source-system records.
  • Explain data latency, missing data, coding practices, organizational relationships, and process exceptions.
  • Participate in requirements, data design, model review, dashboard review, and acceptance sessions.
  • Support user documentation and knowledge transfer.
  • Help prioritize use cases based on Army operational value.
Location and Work Expectations:
  • Ability to work remotely during normal Government working hours and participate in daily status, requirements, development, and technical-review sessions.
  • Ability to travel to Fort Lee, Virginia, at least three times annually and report onsite more frequently if directed.
