Description
The HR Manager is responsible for managing the HR Generalist team and overseeing day-to-day human resources support across the organization. This position serves as the company's primary lead for employee and labor relations and partners with leaders, employees, and union representatives to address workplace matters, support business needs, and ensure compliance with company policies, collective bargaining agreements, and applicable employment laws. This position will be assigned to projects or tasks in alignment with the company's Human Resources strategy. This role reports to the VP/Director of Human Resources. This position is on-site at our Orlando, FL location. ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides leadership, coaching, mentoring, and performance management to the HR Generalist team while fostering a collaborative, customer-focused HR function.
- Partners with senior leadership to develop and execute Human Resources strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
- Leads all labor relations activities across the organization, including union-related matters, grievances, and arbitration proceedings.
- Leads collective bargaining negotiations in partnership with Program Managers and company leadership.
- Interprets and administers collective bargaining agreements and advises leaders on contract requirements and labor-relations practices.
- Provides guidance to leaders and employees on HR matters, including policy interpretation, employee-relations, conflict resolution, workplace concerns, and risk mitigation.
- Oversees employee-relations investigations and recommends appropriate actions through timely resolution.
- Advises leaders on performance management, corrective action, progressive discipline, and employee-related concerns.
- Oversees leave and accommodation matters, workplace injury guidance, unemployment claims, and other employment-related matters in partnership with the HR Generalists.
- Supports the development, implementation, and consistent application of HR policies, procedures, and employment practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in related technical and/or human resources field is preferred.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in Human Resources.
- Demonstrated experience leading labor relations initiatives, including grievance administration, arbitration, and collective bargaining negotiations.
- Prior experience working in an Aerospace & Defense and/or DoD environment is required.
- Understanding of government contracting, CBA employment, SCA employment laws is required.
- SRHM Certified Professional (SRHM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential is a plus.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- High proficiency with HRIS systems. UKG Pro is a plus.
- Excellent leadership skills and ability to evaluate the work of others.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build trust and influence at all organizational levels.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data.
- Thorough knowledge of labor relations practices and legal requirements.
- In depth knowledge of HR related federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Ability to maintain high confidentiality; maintain high level of discretion and professionalism.
