We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Sr. HR Business Partner (Hybrid) on our Human Resources team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 3 days a week in the office.

This role will partner with leaders of assigned business units
by integrating/aligning HR strategies and business initiatives while providing value
added HR solutions. Interpret and deploy
human resources programs to designated client groups. The role builds strong collaborative
relationships and tactfully holds a dual role as an employee advocate and an
extension of management. The role is
involved in both HR and business decisions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

HR Business Partner

  • Serve as an HR partner and consultant to assigned business units.
  • Design, develop and implement HR strategies and equitable solutions to address client needs.
  • Contribute to the development of the business strategy by partnering with business leaders to identify, prioritize and build organizational capabilities, competencies, skills and processes.
  • Provide recommendations to leaders relative to business unit structure, workforce planning, talent reviews and succession planning.
  • Consult with business leaders on enterprise programs including performance management, compensation, talent management, engagement, training, and development.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior management by building and establishing effective, consultative relationships.

Employee Relations

  • Manage simple to highly complex employee relations and performance issues.
  • Pro-actively identify issues, risks and/or concerns and offers advice on how to address, eliminate or mitigate risk.
  • Provide advice and coaching to senior managers and employees and make recommendations and ensure appropriate action is taken.

Internal Collaboration

  • Collaborate and build effective relationships with other members of the HR team to facilitate timely delivery of Human Resources services.
  • Partner with OD+L and other COEs within the HR department as needed.
  • Join committees or teams to develop, implement and/or administer HR programs and policies for the organization.

May include other responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor's degree required.

  2. Minimum 5+ years of HR business partner experience required.

  3. Demonstrated knowledge of HR and business unit strategies.

  4. Demonstrated ability to manage simple to highly complex employee relations matters.

  5. Proven track record of navigating organizational boundaries and building strong relationships with Sr Leaders and Managers.

  6. Strong consulting, interpersonal, teamwork, communication, service delivery and client service skills.

  7. Strong knowledge of HR policies and processes (performance management, talent management, rewards and recognition, employee relations, compensation).

  8. Solid understanding of Human Resources laws and principles.

  9. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

The American Medical Association is located at 330 N. Wabash Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611 and is convenient to all public transportation in Chicago.

This role is an exempt position, and the salary range for this position is $87,394 - $115,797. This is the lowest to highest salary we believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to business consideration and geographical location, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
