Pulmonary Function Lab Coordinator

Description We are seeking to hire a full-time Pulmonary Function Lab Coordinator to join our Respiratory Team and help support high-quality patient care in a fast paced pulmonary Function Laboratory. You will support daily operations of our Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) Labs. You will serve as a key point of contact for patients, providers, and clinical staff by coordinating appointments, managing patient records, supporting administrative functions, and ensuring efficient clinic operations. Key responsibilities include:
  • Schedule Pulmonary Function and Exercise Physiology testing appointments using the electronic medical record system.
  • Coordinate testing appointments around patients' other medical appointments when needed.
  • Contact patients to confirm appointments and provide pre-test instructions.
  • Greet and assist patients upon arrival.
  • Process patient encounters and update registration information in the electronic medical record.
  • Scan and upload documents into patient medical records.
  • Process and route patient reports.
  • Order and maintain inventory of office and clinical supplies.
  • Prepare, format, and edit correspondence, reports, presentations, and departmental documents.
  • Assist with administrative support activities for laboratory leadership and staff.
  • Monitor inventory levels and maintain required forms and supplies.
Salary range: $30.36/hr - $43.49/hr
Qualifications Prior experience in a healthcare, medical office, hospital, or clinic environment
Strong customer service skills and ability to interact professionally with patients, families, visitors, physicians, and staff from diverse backgrounds
Experience scheduling patient appointments (preferred)
Experience working with electronic health records (EHR/EMR) systems such as Epic/CareConnect (preferred)
Familiarity with healthcare registration, patient encounter management, and medical documentation processes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn and navigate electronic medical record (EMR) and healthcare information systems
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and work effectively in a fast paced environment
Experience supporting pulmonary, respiratory, or other clinical diagnostic services (preferred)
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information
Ability to work primarily in a seated position while using computer for extended periods
Ability to occasionally stand, walk, stop, and lift or carry items weighing up to 15 pounds
