THE POSITION

The Stock Clerk 1 position with the Department of Transportation offers a great opportunity to support important winter maintenance work. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position focuses on maintaining an organized storeroom and managing parts, tools, and supplies needed for winter maintenance work. As a Stock Clerk 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Inventory Management: Maintain stock levels of commonly used parts and supplies and control the use of specialized tools
  • Ordering Support: Recommend changes to reorder amounts and prepare requisition forms for needed materials
  • Receiving Duties: Receive and inspect incoming items and determine acceptance or rejection before storage
  • Warehouse Operation: Operate the forklift to unload deliveries and move large items safely
  • Work Area Upkeep: Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safe and efficient operations

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Seasonal full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Schedule is subject to change due to weather/season; winter shifts - 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM or 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Graduation from high school; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
