SSAI is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support LAUSD operational and technology-related project initiatives. The selected candidate will analyze current business practices, document workflows and requirements, identify gaps and inefficiencies, support data-informed decisions, and coordinate with stakeholders to improve business processes and outcomes.
- This position is expected to be performed on-site in Los Angeles, CA.
- Candidates must be able to successfully complete fingerprint and criminal background check clearance before working.
- Position is contingent upon customer approval and work order requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate business process analysis to understand current practices and identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, workflows, procedures, reference materials, and supporting documentation.
- Gather, document, and manage business requirements to ensure clarity, completeness, traceability, and alignment with District goals.
- Coordinate with business stakeholders, IT teams, subject matter experts, and leadership on priorities, timelines, risks, issues, and solution options.
- Analyze information and data to support planning, reporting, operational improvement, and data-informed decision-making.
- Prepare findings, recommendations, executive summaries, presentations, status updates, action items, issue summaries, and next steps.
- Support implementation activities, including validation of requirements, deliverable review, action-item tracking, and confirmation of outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 10+ years of demonstrated experience in business analysis and related services.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, information systems, finance, district management, or a related field.
- Strong experience with process analysis, requirements gathering, stakeholder coordination, data analysis, reporting, documentation, and project coordination.
- Ability to prepare clear management-ready and executive-level materials, including presentations, summaries, reports, and status updates.
- Ability to support data validation, reporting, process improvement analysis, and documentation suitable for operational use, leadership review, and audit support.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting public sector, education, school district, government, or similarly structured organizations.
- Experience aligning business operations with IT capabilities or technology implementation efforts.
- Experience creating dashboards, status materials, executive summaries, action-item trackers, risk/issue logs, and requirements traceability materials.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, and related documentation/collaboration tools.
