Brief Description:

The Technical Advisor is responsible for performing technically detailed survey correction/analysis work. This includes creating case studies, performing forensic analysis, and real-time troubleshooting. In addition, this individual will be expected to support sales in a technical manner in both an internal and a customer facing role. Travel will be part of the job. This position will also be responsible for maintaining relationships with internal and external customers, partnering with cross functional teams and support groups and executing on Company strategies and objectives to deliver operational excellence and a safe work environment.

This role performs under the direction of the Vice President of Operations.

Detailed Description:

  • Attain deep understanding of Survey Management, FDIR (Fault Detection, Isolation, and Recovery) and Corrections including Customer Communication
  • Detailed survey data analysis, including creation of case studies and forensic analysis
  • Assistance in real-time job troubleshooting
  • Customer interaction and technical sales role, including creation of customer-specific brochures and presentations
  • Creation of technical presentations and papers for industry conferences
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) on theories and applications behind survey management and survey corrections
  • Ability to be customer facing and distill technical concepts down to a form that is easily digestible by clients with varying levels of survey management knowledge
  • Ability and willingness to attend 2 Industry Technical Conferences per year pertaining to Survey/MWD Theory and write a summary regarding current trends on how Superior QC should react
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook as well as other business systems as required
  • Maintain professional demeanor in all situations and with excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills and the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels and third parties
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Extremely detail oriented with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team, prioritizing tasks with many distractions, and managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously to meet deadlines

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2+ years RTOC experience or previous survey management experience in the MWD industry
  • Must live in or relocate to the Houston, TX area within 60 days of accepting position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree in Engineering or closely related field

Additional Details:

Regular travel is expected within and outside assigned region. This position must work with an emphasis and prioritization to maintain a professional attitude when interacting with all Company and customer representatives. Must be able to work closely with others and manage customer interaction in a professional manner.
