This customer-facing role supports electronics customers in the Americas Industrial Gases West Sub-Region by leading quality engagements, managing product quality risk, and strengthening customer trust.

The Electronics Customer Quality Lead manages quality activities for bulk gas products, including Nitrogen, Oxygen, Argon, Hydrogen, Helium, and Carbon Dioxide, produced by Air Products, joint ventures, and third-party partners.

The role requires strong collaboration with customers, plant quality, operations, suppliers, commercial teams, and global quality leadership to ensure customer expectations are met and product qualification is maintained.

  • Serve as the primary quality contact for electronics customers, including quality concerns, product qualifications, change control communications, and escalations.

  • Lead customer and supplier issue resolution, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities.

  • Manage supplier quality audits, customer alignment, audit close-out, and timely resolution of findings.

  • Support business continuity through qualified product sources and contribute to the development of the U.S. electronics quality operating model.

  • Influence cross-functional teams without direct authority and support development of future quality capabilities and talent.

Required Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers and internal stakeholders.

  • Strong organizational, planning, and execution skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving capability.

  • Data-driven, resourceful, and self-motivated approach to quality management and continuous improvement.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams, external customers, suppliers, and third-party manufacturing partners.

  • Experience conducting formal root cause analysis and leading 8D problem-solving processes in customer-facing environments.

  • Knowledge of statistical process control and data analysis methodologies.

  • Experience working with ISO management systems.

  • Strong customer orientation with a commitment to quality excellence, responsiveness, and relationship-building.

  • Ability to challenge existing norms, drive innovation, and strengthen customer trust through proactive quality leadership.

  • Operational experience in industrial gases, specialty chemicals, semiconductor manufacturing, or related industries.

  • Experience supporting customer quality, plant quality, supplier quality, operations, engineering, or project execution functions.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive issue resolution without direct authority.

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to align quality communications with commercial account strategy.

  • Experience supporting audits, customer qualifications, change control, and quality-related risk management.

  • The role requires routine travel within North America and occasional international travel to support customer engagement, training, supplier quality audits, and operational quality initiatives.

Minimum Hiring Requirements

  • Technical degree in engineering, science, metrology, statistics, or a related field; chemical or mechanical engineering preferred.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Quality, Engineering, Operations, Project Management, or a related technical function.

  • Experience supporting customer-facing quality activities, product qualifications, quality escalations, audits, or corrective action processes.

  • Ability to travel routinely within North America and occasionally internationally.

  • Valid driver's license.
