The University of North Carolina Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is recruiting an open-rank (tenure-track or variable track) Maternal-Fetal Medicine Critical Care faculty physician. This is a unique opportunity to serve as the clinical and academic leader of Critical CareMFMatUNC.

Responsibilities

  • Provide inpatient and outpatient care to high-risk obstetric patients, including those requiring intensive care management.
  • Provide consultative and co-management critical care services for pregnant and postpartum patients.
  • Lead the development and implementation of evidence-based critical care protocols for obstetric patients.
  • Build and direct a jointMFM-Critical Care fellowship program in collaboration with relevant departments.
  • Develop and expand tele-critical care (e-ICU) capacity to extend critical care expertise to obstetric patients acrossUNCHealth's regional network.
  • Education of medical students, residents, and fellows, and active participation in the division's research mission

Requirements & Qualifications
  • MD or DO required
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible/Active Candidate in OB-GYN and Maternal-Fetal Medicine required, BE/BC in Critical Care preferred.
  • Completion of both a 4-yearACGMEapproved OB-GYNresidency and a 3-yearABOGapproved fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
  • Critical Care Fellowship or equivalent clinical experience in critical care medicine.
  • Demonstrated competence in maternal medicine, prenatal diagnosis, and the management of critically ill obstetric patients.
