Position Summary

In this position, you will clean and sanitize production equipment, packaging machinery, and facility work areas to ensure a safe, clean, and compliant manufacturing environment. Your work helps ensure high-quality products are produced in accordance with USDA regulations, GMPs, and company food safety standards.

Job Functions



  • Perform pre-operational and operational cleaning and sanitizing of equipment, machinery, and production areas.
  • Use high-pressure hot water hoses, cleaning chemicals, and sanitation tools to clean equipment and facility surfaces.
  • Disassemble and reassemble equipment for thorough cleaning and inspection.
  • Remove product residue, debris, and waste materials from machinery and work areas.
  • Clean floors, drains, walls, conveyors, machine parts, and other production equipment.
  • Apply approved cleaning and sanitizing solutions following established procedures.
  • Prepare equipment and work areas for production by ensuring cleanliness and sanitation standards are met.
  • Review daily cleaning assignments, gather required supplies, and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Complete required sanitation records and documentation accurately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all food safety, GMP, USDA, safety, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Perform general housekeeping and other duties as assigned.


Qualifications



  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn sanitation procedures, equipment operation, and cleaning techniques.
  • Ability to safely use cleaning tools, equipment, and sanitation chemicals.
  • Ability to follow written instructions, SSOPs, safety procedures, and company policies.
  • Basic understanding of workplace safety and chemical handling, or willingness to learn.
  • Reliable attendance and flexibility to work assigned schedules and overtime as needed.
  • Must successfully complete required background screening and safety training, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).


Physical Requirements



  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the shift.
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Work in wet, humid, and temperature-variable environments.
  • Ability to use hand tools, hoses, and sanitation equipment for extended periods.
  • Ability to safely work around manufacturing equipment and moving machinery.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE, including gloves, safety glasses, waterproof gear, and other protective equipment.
