Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Participatesin departmental and organizational performance improvement initiatives and workflow optimization efforts to enhance patient experience, quality, safety, operational efficiency, and overall patient care. Actively contributes to student and employee training, onboarding, and educational activities.
Maintains a clean, safe, and prepared work environment, including cleaning and preparing patient rooms. Maintains adequate supplies and inventory within the assigned area. Prepares contrast administration and invasive procedure areas using aseptictechniqueand sterile processesin accordance withestablished protocols.
Transports patients to the CT scanner and prepares the examination room. Verifies orders, patient preparation, and the reason for the exam to ensureappropriate scanningprotocols areutilized.Communicateseffectively with patients by obtaining medical history, answering questions, and explaining procedures to promote patient understanding, comfort, and cooperation.Processesexaminations for interpretation.
Prioritizes patient flow and coordinates care through consistent and effective communication with patients, care teams, and families. Documents patient care activities in applicable electronic health record systems anddistributesfinal images to the PACS systemin a timely mannerfor interpretation.
Consistently acts and communicates professionally, embodying the organization's SPIRIT values and fostering a respectful, supportive environment for patients, families, and colleagues. Adheres to ARRT Standards of Ethics.
Applies knowledge of CT principles and practices, including anatomy and physiology, radiation safety, physics, patient positioning, and patient care techniques.Complies withJoint Commission, state, federal, organizational, and departmental regulatoryrequirementsand standards.
Certificate in Radiologic Technology from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE), the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), or the Medical Education and Training Campus (METC)required.
