Overview & Position Summary
This position oversees the interior finish merchandising function, guiding the development, coordination, and execution of interior finish packages and product offerings across communities. The role leads a team responsible for ensuring interior selections are aligned with design intent, operational requirements, and market expectations. It supports short-term planning, cross-functional collaboration, and consistent application of design standards that enhance the customer experience and product quality.

Primary Responsibilities

* Lead development and implementation of product assortments for design centers, ensuring alignment with customer needs and trends

* Coordinate cross-departmentally with National Purchasing, Options, and Design Center teams to ensure product assortments provide quality products that cover a range of price points, design needs and regional preferences

* Analyze sales performance and customer feedback to evaluate product success and optimize assortments accordingly

* Serve as key point of contact for divisions, addressing feedback and resolving issues related to interior product offerings

* Select and document interior finish selections for model homes

* Leverage model homes as a strategic sales tool to drive revenue by showcasing thoughtfully curated interior finishes and upgrade options that inspire customers

* Partner with model merchandising team to align interior finishes with furnishing and overall color pallets, creating a cohesive model home experience

* Oversee cabinet design and layout review process ensuring functional and aesthetic design

Education & Experience
Required:
* Minimum of 4-6 years of relevant experience in interior finishes, merchandising, design, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional education
* Experience managing teams responsible for interior finish execution

* Experience applying technical or design expertise to resolve complex finish-related or operational issues

Preferred:
* Additional experience supporting interior finish programs across multiple communities, divisions, or product lines
* Advanced knowledge of interior finish materials and applications

* Experience collaborating cross-functionally to implement or improve interior finish programs

* Experience with cabinet design

* Strong leadership and team management capabilities
* Advanced knowledge of interior finish materials, design trends, and residential construction practices
* Ability to plan and manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in complex or multi-stakeholder situations

* Proficiency in digital design tools and merchandising documentation platforms

Working Conditions
Work is performed primarily in an office or design studio environment, with routine interaction across multiple departments. Occasional visits to design centers, model homes, or construction sites may be required to review interior finishes or support operational alignment. Some travel may be required for meetings, vendor reviews, or cross-functional collaboration.

Physical Requirements
* Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
* Ability to use a computer and design tools
* Ability to lift and carry finish samples up to 20 pounds
* Ability to walk through construction sites or model homes as needed
* Ability to visually evaluate colors, materials, and design details

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $80,000-$90,000
  • FLSA Status: Exempt
  • Bonus Type: Year-end Discretionary
