Advanced Technology Engineer needed by Brookhaven National Laboratory managed by Brookhaven Science Associates, LLC in Upton, New York to be responsible for designing, testing, and implementing integrated hardware solutions such as equipment racks and electrical instrumentation chassis needed for robust and reliable controls and data acquisition at the experimental stations of NSLS-II. Interact with scientists and engineers to identify hardware integration requirements, outline potential solutions, and create project proposals. Examples of systems to integrate include general-purpose I/O enclosures, motion interfaces, electronics racks, and computers. Project management for hardware integration projects within DSSI. Refine requirements, design, implement, test, and document solutions. Contribute to larger projects which have integration needs. Perform as a subject matter expert, consulting DSSI teams and facility staff on best practices and approaches in hardware integration, ensuring facility and system standards are met. Understand and contribute to the development of various layers in the DSSI technology stack, such as hardware drivers, control system software, and user interfaces. Maintain electrical safety.

Minimum Requirements: Requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering and 4 years of experience in the job offered or 4 years of experience in a related occupation.

Must have 4 years of experience integrating hardware in control systems; generating detailed technical documentation including schematics, system drawings, design documentation, and requirements specifications; and working with test equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators, digital power supplies, logic analyzers.

Advanced Technology Engineers earn between $127,300 to $159,700 yearly. ERAP ELIGIBLE - $1,000
