Job Description

Monday - Friday 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM


Annual Salary: $105,000 to $110,000



Position Summary


Reporting to the Value Stream Leader (VSL), the Group Performance Leader is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations to safely deliver customer requirements while achieving performance targets in Safety, Quality, Service, Cost, Productivity, and Employee Development.


The GPL provides leadership and direction to Team Performance Leaders (TPLs) and production personnel, ensuring the successful execution of the production schedule, effective labor utilization, employee development, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role serves as the primary operational leader responsible for translating site objectives into daily execution while driving sustainable improvements in throughput, yield, run rate, and overall manufacturing performance.


Key Responsibilities


Operational Leadership
* Lead daily production activities to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
* Execute the production schedule while balancing labor, equipment, and material constraints.
* Monitor and improve key performance indicators including Safety, Quality, Yield, Run Rate, Throughput, OEE, and Customer Service.
* Lead Tier meetings, shift handoffs, and daily operational reviews.
* Drive accountability for operational standards, work instructions, and process compliance.
* Accountable for staffing and performance of approximately 11 up to 15 production lines per shift in a high-mix manufacturing environment with frequent changeovers and varied customer demand.


People Leadership
* Directly lead Team Performance Leaders and support employee development across all shifts.
* Conduct coaching, performance management, corrective actions, and employee development activities.
* Develop training plans and succession pipelines for Operators, Setup Technicians, and future leaders.
* Support staffing strategies, hiring, onboarding, and retention initiatives.
* Promote employee engagement while maintaining accountability to site expectations.


Continuous Improvement
* Champion Lean Manufacturing, 6S, and problem-solving methodologies.
* Lead root cause investigations related to safety, quality, downtime, scrap, and customer complaints.
* Drive setup reduction, labor productivity improvements, and process standardization.
* Partner with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Production Control to implement sustainable improvements.


Cross-Functional Leadership
* Collaborate with Maintenance to improve equipment reliability and preventative maintenance execution
* Partner with Quality to ensure product compliance, first-piece validation, containment actions, and corrective actions.
* Work closely with Production Control to optimize scheduling and capacity utilization.
* Support new product introductions, equipment installations, and operational readiness activities.


Financial & Business Performance
* Manage labor utilization and operational spending within budget expectations.
* Analyze performance trends and implement corrective actions to improve business results.
* Identify opportunities to improve profitability through productivity, waste reduction, and process optimization.


Floor Presence
* Maintain a strong presence on the production floor, spending the majority of time coaching employees, solving problems, and supporting execution.
* Lead by example in safety, quality, accountability, and employee engagement.

Qualifications

* Bachelors degree required; Technical and/or Finance discipline strongly preferred
* 5-10 years manufacturing experience
* Six Sigma Green Belt Certification preferred
