- Portneuf Medical Center (PMC) is a nationally recognized healthcare leader with 205 beds, serving as the region's Level II Trauma Center and tertiary referral hospital and is home to the Portneuf Heart and Vascular Institute, Portneuf Cancer Center, Portneuf Medical Group and Portneuf Air Rescue. PMC has a Level III neonatal intensive care unit, an adult intensive care unit, nationally recognized orthopedic services, a full suite of cardiac care, Center of Excellence recognized surgeons, imaging, primary and specialty care.

The Vascular Technical Director oversees vascular lab operations within a hospital-based clinic, including responsibility for accreditation oversight and regulatory compliance. This role works directly with physicians (MDs), advanced practice providers (APPs), and RVTs and is an individual contributor position with no direct reports.
Responsibilities
- Under the supervision of the Medical Director/Vascular Surgeon and direction of the Department Manager, you are delegated the autonomous authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties.
- Accountable to perform safe, timely, and accurate ultrasound studies, including but not limited to Abdominal Aortic, Carotid Extracranial, Hemodialysis Access, Saphenous Vein Mapping, Arm Mapping (Venous/Arterial), Renal Artery, and arterial ultrasound of both the upper and lower extremities.
- All phases of diagnostic medical sonography to provide high-quality exams for diagnostic, therapeutic, and operative purposes.
- In addition, the studies performed must meet the expectations and requirements to maintain the current accreditations of both the vascular laboratory and the vein center itself.
- Responsible for maintaining the current accreditations and ensuring that the requirements from the accredited bodies are upheld throughout the practice.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- Must hold or obtain current licensure as an RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
- Competent in scanning non-invasive vascular ultrasound studies.
- Be able to demonstrate specific normal anatomy and abnormal pathology.
- Computer skills; Electronic medical records software.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Creativity, problem analysis, and decision making.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist)
