Job Description
The Junior Buyer supports the purchasing team by assisting with procurement tasks such as placing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, communicating with vendors, and maintaining accurate purchasing records. This entry-level role plays a key part in ensuring that materials and supplies are ordered and received on time to meet production needs. It's ideal for someone starting their career in procurement or supply chain.

Essential Functions
  • Issue of purchase orders based on approved requisitions and inventory levels.
  • Follow up with suppliers to confirm order details and delivery timelines
  • Assist in maintaining purchasing records and vendor files.
  • Track shipments and work with receiving and inventory teams to ensure materials are properly received and recorded.
  • Resolve basic order discrepancies or delays with vendors.
  • Support cost comparisons and vendor quotes for basic items or supplies
  • Help monitor stock levels and notify the team of potential shortages
  • Assist in updating ERP or purchasing systems with current order and pricing information
  • Provide administrative support to the procurement team as needed.
Skills and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; coursework or certification in business, supply chain, or logistics preferred.
  • 1-2 years of purchasing, inventory, or administrative experience (preferred, not required)
  • Basic understanding of purchasing or inventory processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); ERP system experience a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, follow directions, and meet deadlines.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
