What to Expect
We are seeking a Cell Simulation Engineer to work across cell teams, organizing and processing lithium-ion cell data to support critical design and analysis decisions. You will develop and maintain visually rich, data-driven tools that inform engineers across the company and optimize Li-ion cell models for electric vehicles and energy products. You will optimize model parameters to best predict empirical battery data, write test plans, propose design of experiments, and summarize results in test reports. You will also use data manipulation and visualization skills to convey model and test results to fellow engineers, follow up on inquiries, and disseminate bleeding-edge results traceably and reproducibly.
What You'll Do
- Process and analyze large-scale
simulation and experimental datasets using MATLAB, Python, or similar tools - Optimize model parameters to
accurately predict empirical battery performance - Develop automated reporting and
visualization frameworks to convey model and test results - Collaborate with Cell Engineers to
support cell design, analysis, and electrochemical modeling - Write test plans, design
experiments (DOE), and summarize findings in technical reports - Maintain high-level metrics
linking simulation data to electrochemical models - Support cross-functional teams
with data requests and disseminate research findings efficiently - Document model workflows,
implementations, and simulation study results
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Engineering, Computer
Science, or equivalent experience - Expert-level programming and data
analysis skills in MATLAB or Python - Strong data visualization
capabilities - Excellent analytical and
organizational skills - Ability to manage multiple
projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment - Excellent interpersonal and
collaboration skills; ability to work patiently and effectively with engineers across multiple disciplines and teams - Experience with MySQL or other
database systems - Familiarity with lithium-ion cell
testing and characterization - Background in battery modeling or electrochemical
systems
