Duke Raleigh Hospital, A Campus of Duke University Hospital - North Pavilion 5200 (Medical - Surgical Oncology Unit) seeks to hire Registered Nurse who will embrace our mission ofAdvancing Health Together. Qualifying candidates will receive a $15,000 Commitment Bonus! Unit Summary: NP 5200 is a 37-bed inpatient adult medical/stepdown oncology unit. Our main patient populations involve symptom management for oncology patients, administration of chemotherapeutic agents, and end-of-life care. Nursing care is provided in collaboration with other departments and disciplines including hospital medicine, surgical services, pharmacy, case management, social work, nurse navigators, dieticians, and chaplain services. The unit is also part of Duke Cancer Institute of Wake County, which provides comprehensive cancer treatment for patients in Wake County receiving care across the continuum of inpatient and ambulatory settings. Work Hours & Shifts:
Job Summary: Plan and provide professional nursing care for patients in accordance with physician orders and established policies and procedures. RNs with no previous oncology/chemo experience will be skilled to administer chemotherapy/immunotherapy within 6-8 months of hire. We offer didactic education and hands-on precepted orientation for chemotherapy/immunotherapy administration based on ONS/APHON guidelines, DUHS policies and procedures, and appropriate evidence in practice standards. RNs will complete the ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate Course within 24 months of initial chemotherapy/immunotherapy competency with DUHS. Job Duties:

Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN program. Exception: Registered nurses hired between July 1, 2014 and April 11, 2021 without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) are encouraged to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date but must complete the program within seven years of their start date. Registered nurses hired before July 1, 2014 are not required to enroll in a BSN program to remain in this job classification. Experience No experience required. All CNIs will be enrolled in and must complete the DUHS Nurse Residency Program within 12 months of hire. CNIs are required to meet criteria set forth by the DUHS Nurse Residency Program within 18 months of hire to be promoted to CNII. Degrees, Licensures, Certifications Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS required.
