Inova Schar Heart and Vascular Research is looking for a dedicated Clinical Research Specialist 1 to join the Team. This PRN role will be day-shift working Monday - Friday located in Falls Church, VA.

The Clinical Research Specialist 1 assists investigators and research staff in the conduct of clinical research studies. Performs a variety of research, data, and clerical duties of a routine and technical nature to support the conduct of clinical research.

Clinical Research Specialist 1 Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the preparation and submission of regulatory documents to the study sponsor and IRB, as required by the protocol and regulatory requirements.

  • Assist in the conduct and documentation of study visits and protocol-specific testing/interviews according to the study protocol.

  • Assists the research team in completing case report forms accurately and according to the protocol.

  • Completes study procedures, as relevant to training and certification.

  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (M.D.) preferred.

  • Experience supporting multicenter clinical research projects preferred.
  • Experience with data collection, data quality assurance, and manuscript preparation.
  • Previous involvement in cardiovascular, metabolic, or public health research studies preferred.
