Inova Centralized Surgical Scheduling is looking for a dedicated Patient Access Associate 3 to join the team. This role will be full-time day shift, Monday - Friday, 8:00a-4:30p. Job Responsibilities
- Assumes responsibility for assigned surgeons and surgeons offices and maintains a positive relationship
- Understands and performs scheduling of surgical cases in timely manner according to department standards of work
- Works in collaboration with respective operating rooms to ensure accuracy and efficiency in surgical scheduling
- Provides support and scheduling to all service line and care sites within Inova Health System
- Provides support and coverage to Team Lead as needed
- Facilitates pre-admission by ensuring real time eligibility with insurances
- Works independently to complete assignments without close supervision
- Demonstrates proficient scheduling with minimal errors and assists in changing/improving workflow processes
- Delivers an acceptable volume of work with high levels of accuracy.
- Encourages open communication of ideas and opinions
- Accepts responsibility to review and correct errors before completion of scheduling surgical procedures
- Uses a logical process to identify the cause of problems and develop appropriate solutions and follows the chain of command within the department leadership when needed
- Ability to assist and audit the use of CPT codes and ICD 10 codes to provide accuracy in scheduling
- Accepts and provides direct/honest feedback between team members in a non-punishing manner
- Maintains, collaborates, and supports positive working relationships with departments that interact with surgical scheduling (i.e., Patient Financial Services, Pre-surgical Services)
- Attends and actively participants in department meetings and initiatives
- Supports and participates in system initiatives
- May perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience - 2 years of healthcare patient access experience or 2 years of experience in a healthcare revenue cycle. Education - High School diploma or equivalent. Preferred Qualifications 1+ years of experience with surgical or medical scheduling. Ability to multi-task with attention to detail. Spanish-English bilingual
