SUMMARY
The IT System Analyst III develops, implements, enhances, documents, and supports the organization's most complex and multifaceted software applications, which are critical to the day-to-day functions of the bank. This position serves as the primary contact between vendors and business units and reports to various levels of management across multiple divisions on the status of systems, including any outstanding issues and successes. This role also maintains strong working knowledge of the bank's core systems, including Premier, BPM, and related platforms.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Researches, tests, schedules, and deploys upgrades, enhancements, and releases while adhering to documented change management processes and procedures.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert on mergers and acquisitions.
  • Provides tier-two help desk assistance for issues escalated from First Support on critical applications.
  • Provides leadership, guidance, and recommendations to System Analyst I and II team members on escalated issues.
  • Provides subject matter expertise to support the development and delivery of training for end users.
  • Learns new systems with minimal guidance.
  • Creates and maintains system documentation, including desktop procedures, end-user procedures, system diagrams, SLAs, BCPs, disaster recovery plans, user access audits, and test plans.
  • Assesses in-depth business requirements of critical applications and distinguishes between requirements and processes.
  • Converts business requirements into system requirements and maintains ongoing communication with vendors.
  • Assists System Analyst I and II team members with converting business requirements into system requirements as needed.
  • Establishes performance measures, goals, and objectives for software based on business requirements.
  • Gathers, interprets, and reports system performance issues to vendors, business units, and management, and documents performance trends.
  • Develops and enforces best practices and methodologies for system analysis and design.
  • Monitors and maintains data integrations with source systems to ensure accurate and timely processing of financial and critical data.
  • Participates in internal and external audit walkthroughs and adheres to IT General Controls (ITGC).
  • Responds to audit findings.
  • Develops, maintains, and monitors data validation routines and understands the business impact of data exceptions or delays.
  • Analyzes, evaluates, and recommends system changes, process improvements, modeling, configurations, and enhancements based on business requirements.
  • Makes independent decisions based on mastery-level knowledge of supported applications and related business processes.
  • Evaluates emerging technologies and proposes strategic innovations.
  • Stays current on financial industry trends and demonstrates strong analytical skills.
  • Leads meetings and delivers presentations to small and large groups across various levels of management.
  • Owns medium to large project efforts on complex systems that integrate with business operations and independently supports project work.
  • Demonstrates familiarity with various programming languages.

  • Experience with bank applications and software administration is required.
  • Completion of field-related certifications is preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percents, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • 4-6 years related experience, training, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required
