Position Summary

The Director of Assessment and Evaluation oversees the planning, implementation, analysis, and continuous improvement of assessment and evaluation processes within the MD program. This role ensures the integrity, accuracy, and effectiveness of course, clerkship, faculty, and program-level evaluations, supporting data-driven decision-making and compliance with accreditation standards. The Director of Assessment and Evaluation works collaboratively with faculty, course/clerkship directors, curriculum leaders, institutional research teams, and administrative staff to maintain high-quality assessment and evaluation systems that promote educational excellence and continuous quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Evaluation System Management

  • Lead the administration and maintenance of assessment and evaluation tools.
  • Manage electronic assessment and evaluation platforms and ensure optimal system functionality.
  • Oversee evaluation schedules, deployment, response monitoring, and follow-up processes.

2. Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative evaluation data.
  • Develop dashboards, summary reports, and trend analyses for leadership and committees.
  • Identify patterns, strengths, and areas for improvement within courses and clerkships.
  • Present findings to senior leadership.

3. Accreditation & Compliance

  • Support preparation of accreditation reports and documentation.
  • Maintain records and documentation required for internal and external review.

4. Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI)

  • Monitor effectiveness of changes and track longitudinal outcomes.
  • Contribute to annual program evaluation reports.

5. Faculty & Staff Support

  • Provide training to faculty and staff on evaluation tools

6. Policy & Process Development

  • Adhere to policies related to student assessment and evaluations, faculty evaluations, and program review processes.
  • Ensure compliance with FERPA and institutional data governance policies.

7. Collaboration & Leadership

  • Serve as a key member of the Office of Medical Education team.
  • Participate in curriculum committees and subcommittees.

Qualifications

Required

  • PhD in education, educational measurement, public health, health professions education, statistics, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in program evaluation, higher education administration, or medical education.
  • Experience with survey and evaluation platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, MedHub, E*Value, New Innovations).
  • Strong analytical skills, including experience with data analysis software (e.g., Excel, SPSS, R, Tableau, or similar).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in undergraduate medical education.
  • Experience developing dashboards or data visualization tools.

Salary Range 100,000-120,000
