MedStar Health is looking foraMammography Technologistto join our team at Medstar Washington Hospital Center!

Schedule: Monday-Friday; various hours between 08:30am-5:30pm

AsaMammography Technologist, you will perform basic and specialized mammography views.Assiststhe physician in diagnostic procedures such asductograms,stereotacticcore biopsy, breast localization, and breast ultrasound procedures.

Primary Duties:

  • Performs all forms of mammography imaging.Assistsphysicians in diagnostic procedures such as inductograms,stereotacticcore biopsy, breast localization and breast ultrasounds. Explains procedures, screens,prepares,and positions patients for examination. Instructs patientsregardingsite care and precautions asrequired.

  • Performs examinations according to department protocols and adjusts equipment appropriately to ensure satisfactory images. Performs image photography and film processing. Reviews and evaluates completed examinations for quality and completeness.

  • Reviews diagnostic cases including patient history with Radiologist. Verifies all examinations performed utilizing MARS information system.

  • Prepares,arranges,and stocks room for next procedure. Ensures supply levels are adequate in assigned area. Communicates withappropriate individualwhen the department inventory has been or is approaching depletion.

  • Assistswith the training and orientation of new employees and students. Collects quality control data formanagers, such as film usage, equipment problems, etc. Schedules, logs, and redirects patients asrequired.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree required or certificate (before Jan.1 2015) in Radiologic Technology from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the US Department of Education (USDE) Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or Medical Education and Training Campus (METC).
  • Meet MQSA/FDA qualifications for performing mammography exams required
  • ARRT Registered with American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT) (M) within 120 Days required
  • CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification
