Research Associate

The successful candidate will conduct research on the sustainable production of specialty crops using state-of-the -art digital technologies such as ground-based and aerial sensors funded by USDA. The candidate will supervise graduate and undergraduate students, and participate in proposal and manuscript writing.

The College houses the departments of natural resources and environmental design ( NRED), animal sciences, family and consumer sciences, and agribusiness, applied economics, and agriscience education. The NRED Department seeks excellence in teaching, research, and extension in improving the natural environment for long-term sustainable productivity. The NRED department offers three programs of Bachelor of Science in biological engineering, agricultural and environmental systems, and landscape architecture, two concentrations in environmental studies, and sustainable land and food systems under the college program of Master of Science in agriculture and environmental systems, and a concentration in sustainable agriculture and environmental science under the College Ph.D. Program in agriculture and environmental sciences.

A master's degree is required, and a PhD is preferred, in Plant Science, Plant Physiology, Horticulture, Digital Agriculture, Remote Sensing, or a closely related field.
