Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Credit Portfolio Analyst to support portfolio management, credit analysis, and investment strategy initiatives. This role will play a critical part in monitoring portfolio performance, conducting financial analysis, and delivering insights that inform investment decisions and support investor reporting.

This will be a LONG-TERM Contract role!! (5 days IN-Office)

Key Responsibilities
  • Portfolio & Credit Monitoring

    • Monitor portfolio performance and credit risk, including identifying early indicators of underperformance.
    • Support timely escalation of credit concerns and assist in restructuring or modification efforts as needed.
  • Financial & Performance Analysis

    • Conduct detailed financial statement analysis to assess borrower performance and business risk.
    • Perform portfolio tracking, benchmarking, and comparative analyses to support internal decision-making and external investor reporting.
  • Investment Committee Support

    • Develop insights, analysis, and strategic recommendations for presentation to the Investment Committee.
  • Fundraising & Portfolio Strategy

    • Assist with fundraising initiatives and contribute to portfolio strategy across various fund vehicles and structured products.
  • Loan Valuation

    • Act as an active member of the loan valuation team, coordinating with third-party vendors to ensure accurate and timely pricing for a portfolio of 100+ loans.
  • Data & Process Improvement

    • Identify data quality gaps and inefficiencies, recommending and implementing process improvements to reduce manual rework.
    • Support automation initiatives, including the use of emerging technologies and AI tools to streamline workflows.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Partner with Portfolio Management, Investment, Operations, and other internal stakeholders to ensure efficient portfolio workflows and clear ownership of deliverables.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required; Finance or Accounting preferred with a strong academic record.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, credit analysis, or related roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret financial statements and evaluate business and credit risk.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly synthesize complex information.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in portfolio management, accounting, investment operations, or related fields.
  • Familiarity with loan valuation processes and third-party pricing coordination.
  • Interest in and comfort with emerging technologies, including AI and automation tools.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
