Required Qualifications About the Department
The Department of Physics and Astronomy offers B.S. and B.A. degrees in Physics, a BS in Engineering Physics, and a M.S. in Physics. The campus is located in northeastern Minnesota at the tip of Lake Superior, is the home of the Large Lakes Observatory, and is approximately 150 miles north of Minneapolis/St. Paul and also 150 miles south of the NOvA experiment Ash River Laboratory. The department has 14 full time faculty and research strengths in astrophysics, particle physics, condensed matter physics, and physical oceanography/limnology.
