Scheduled Work Hours: 9:00 pm -7:00 am, Monday - Saturdays, with OT as needed

The 3rd Shift Production Supervisor - Blending Department is responsible for supervising employees to maximize safety, quality, and productivity. Key responsibilities include daily production scheduling, lot control, inventory accuracy, reporting, sanitation, housekeeping, and adherence to standard operating procedures. Assures correct preparation of powder (order, weight-outs, etc.). Shared responsibility for new methods e.g. 5 S, standardize work, methods improvements and computerized weigh out system.

This position may require the employee to work in excess of 40 hours per week. Overtime is scheduled based upon individual job responsibilities and the needs of the department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Safety (line inspections, department safety audits, safety meetings).


  • Quality (high quality production, quality audits, clean environment) HACCP, Verification of CCP's.


  • Lot control, inventory accuracy, and reporting.


  • Develop and operate within SOPs.


  • Cost/Production efficiency, maintenance, strategic planning for the continuation of production.


  • Sanitation and housekeeping.


  • Employee relations issues.



QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE



  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience required.


  • Experience in one of the following industries is required: CPG, Food/beverage, pharmaceutical, and/or packaging.


  • Bilingual Spanish/English required


  • College degree is preferred.


  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate employees.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES



  • Strong verbal & written communication skills.


  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and spoken English and Spanish.


  • Highly organized, methodical, disciplined, and detail-oriented.


  • Excellent multi-tasking abilities are required.


  • Ability to strategically plan to meet production schedules.


  • Utilization of leadership and teambuilding skills for employee growth and retention.


  • Basic computer skills (i.e. Microsoft office programs and internet).


  • Fiscally responsible in department, facility and company, as a whole.


  • Must lead by example, morally and ethically.


  • Experience with manufacturing machinery and inventory control is preferred.



BENEFITS & SALARY

Jel Sert Company is committed to pay transparency and will provide further compensation information during the interview process. The minimum compensation for the 3rd Shift Production Supervisor - Blending Department is $29.37 per hour. Due to this being a 3rd shift opportunity, the shift differential to be paid for all time worked on 3rd shift is an additional $2.00 per hour. Compensation is determined by a candidate's experience, education, skills, training, and the internal equity within our organization. actual compensation to be paid will be determined upon an offer.
