Department Information

Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is the non-profit, applied research arm of Georgia Tech. This position is in GTRI's Support Services Department (SSD).

Job Summary

Provide professional architectural design and project management services for assigned construction projects on the GT campus. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: staff. This position will typically advise and counsel: staff.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Prepare architectural designs for construction projects.

Job Duty 2 -
Lead project teams, providing architectural designs and construction drawings, specifications, schedule, cost estimates and project reports.

Job Duty 3 -
Develop technical specifications for construction projects.

Job Duty 4 -
Maintain current knowledge of developments in the architectural profession.

Job Duty 5 -
Ensure compliance with state building codes for assigned projects.

Job Duty 6 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture (5 year program) or Master of Architecture or Interior Design or equivalent combination of education and experience

Other Required Qualifications
The job requires one who is task and detail toiiveted; flexible, and able to perftom multiple, various tasks concurrivetly. Excellivet communications skills are required as well as the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems that are varied rc nature.

Required Experience
Three to five years job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
LEED, AP Excellent time management, communication, collaboration, and the ability to manage multiple projects and outside consultants in addition to the ability to work independently

Five to seven years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Succeeful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following preferred skills:

  • 5-10 Years experience in Interior Design and space planning producing test fits for project work scope and capital planning cost estimate
  • Experience with all phases of Architectural design Planning & Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Project Management.
  • Commercial Furniture process management includes managing customers, coordinating with vendors, processing purchase orders, managing installations, and on site coordination with building management, vendors, and project managers as well as escorting installers to protect site security.
  • Experience with Construction Document drawings to call out electrical and data connections for furniture placement
  • Experience in managing a Help requests system and providing feedback
  • Proficient use of AutoCAD, CET, Bluebeam, ESRI or equivalents
  • Proficient use or Revit 3D or other 3D space modeling programs
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires working knowledge of architectural principles and practices and related project management including project programming, project budget formulation, design, structural engineering and construction. Use of office and specialized computer applications is required. LEED Administration experience.

Salary range is dependent on candidates experiences and skills that ranges from $73,967 - $113,909.
