Physician Assistant - Inpatient Surgical Oncology Rounding

Are you a skilled and motivated Physician Assistant looking to make a real impact in surgical oncology? We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Physician Assistants to join our high-performing inpatient team, delivering exceptional care to patients undergoing complex cancer treatments and surgeries. You will work side by side with top surgeons across various specialties, including gynecologic oncology, urology, surgical oncology, plastics, GI, Colorectal and thoracic.

In this role, you'll be an essential part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, managing patients through their post-operative admission. You will have the opportunity to exercise both independent judgement and team-based decision making. City of Hope OC Hospital is a Cancer Specialty Hospital so all operative patients are seen through this lens and have unique needs.

Please note this is a NIGHTS position. The inpatient surgery service at City of Hope OC Hospital is staffed by inpatient surgery APPs 24/7.

As a successful candidate, you will:

• Assess and manage all aspects of care for patients admitted to the surgical service and coming out of the O.R to admitted status.

• Perform surgical consults on inpatients in collaboration with the specialty surgeon on call.

• Integrate with a supportive and exemplary group of inpatient surgery APPs.

• Round with attending surgeons on inpatient floors and in the PACU on occasion.

• Maintain consistent and timely communication with the attending surgeons regarding any changes in the status of inpatients.

• Anticipate discharge needs/barriers for patients based on their specific circumstances to facilitate timely and safe discharge planning.

Your qualifications should include:

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Master's degree
• Three years as a Physician Assistant is preferred.
• Unrestricted, Current Physician Assistant license
• Certified California Physician Assistant license
• Current DEA license required.
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association
• Current ACLS certification from American Heart Association
• Salary - $119,000 - $213,000
