Student Financial Assistance:

Student Financial Assistance is dedicated to supporting UCF's mission and goals through the efficient delivery of student aid. The Office provides UCF students with a comprehensive offering of financial assistance options to support student success and the attainment of a university degree.

The Opportunity:

The Financial Aid Coordinator I supports the effective and compliant administration of student financial aid programs. This role is crucial for promoting student success by assisting students and families in understanding financial aid eligibility, application processes, and regulatory requirements. The Coordinator will develop proficiency across all areas of financial aid, with a focus on becoming a subject matter expert within an assigned unit of the Financial Aid Office.

Responsibilities:

Student Counseling and Support


  • Provide timely, accurate counseling to students and families regarding financial aid options, eligibility, application requirements, and documentation.

  • Respond to student inquiries via email, in-person, referrals, and virtual appointments.

  • Assist students in understanding the impact of enrollment changes (e.g., full-time vs. part-time, course withdrawals) on financial aid eligibility.


Eligibility Monitoring

  • Monitor student files for Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) and advise students on maintaining eligibility requirements.

Compliance and Review


  • Review and resolve discrepancies in student records.

  • Complete verification processes for selected applicants.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations, including Title IV programs.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student files and documentation.


Aid Processing


  • Assist in the awarding and packaging of financial aid based on eligibility and available resources.

  • Process scholarship packaging and reconciliation, including Foundation, departmental, recruitment, and external/private scholarships.

  • Process federal and private loan origination and reconciliation.

  • Adjust aid packages based on changes in eligibility or special circumstances, ensuring timely and accurate updates to student accounts.


Outreach and Education


  • Represent Student Financial Assistance in outreach efforts, presentations, and workshops for current and prospective students.

  • Educate students and families on financial aid processes, resources, and programs.


Professional Development


  • Maintain current knowledge of federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations and procedures.

  • Participate in training sessions, webinars, and workshops to stay informed of policy updates and best practices.


Office Operations


  • Contribute to office projects and initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency and enhancing student services.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's and 0+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Demonstrated proficiency in customer service, including de-escalation and problem resolution.

  • Experience with public speaking or delivering presentations to small and large groups.

  • Prior knowledge or experience in Financial Aid

  • Demonstrated experience utilizing softwares such as Zoom, and Microsoft Office Suite.


Special Instructions to the Applicants:

New hires selected for this position at the University of Central Florida can expect to be offered the base hourly amount of $19.15 for the role. Compensation is determined in alignment with UCF's pay structure and internal equity considerations.

Position requires a valid Class E driver's license. This position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.

All applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position, and the university cannot accommodate H1B transfers or employment-based visa processing for individuals currently sponsored by another employer.
