The Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of the University of Southern California (USC) and Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) in the Department of Pediatrics in the Division of Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine, are actively seeking a full-time faculty member for the position of Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Clinician Educator).

The Department of Pediatrics at Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) and the Keck School of Medicine of University of Southern California (USC) seek a full-time faculty member for the position of Pediatric Pulmonologist with an emphasis in Sleep Medicine. The ideal candidate would have an MD or MD/PhD, be board-certified or board eligible in Pediatric Pulmonology as well as sleep medicine, and qualify for a USC faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor level.

The Division of Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine has fifteen full-time and one part-time faculty members. Each faculty member has a clinical and research profile that is tailored to their specific interests. The Division includes a Cystic Fibrosis Center, Pulmonary Function and Exercise Physiology Laboratory, Sleep Center, Infant Pulmonary Function Testing, Bronchoscopy Program, Home Mechanical Ventilation Program, Diaphragmatic Pacing Program, and is affiliated with a large chronic care facility. Our sleep center is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). We perform over 2,500 polysomnographies a year and maintain a sleep disorders consultation clinic. We currently have five triple boarded sleep specialists. We have an ACGME sleep collaboration with the KSOM LAC+USC/University Hospital sleep fellowship program with two fellows per year dividing their time between the two sites. The recruited faculty member would have specific responsibilities as part of the sleep center team. The division has dedicated nurse specialists, social workers, dieticians, respiratory care practitioners, and research support staff. The Division has an ACGME accredited fellowship program with 6 post-graduate pulmonary fellows. The Pulmonology Clinic receives referrals from the entire southwestern region with almost 7,700 ambulatory patient visits per year. The Division staffs four outreach clinics as well. The Pediatric

Pulmonology program has been consistently ranked in the top 11 Programs by the US News and World Report. Research in the Division is focused on cystic fibrosis, sleep and sleep related breathing disorders, home mechanical ventilation, sudden infant death syndrome, medical ethics, and pulmonary complications of hemoglobinpathies.

Children's Hospital Los Angeles is top 10 Children's Hospitals in the nation and number 1 in the Pacific region in the United States in the current US News and World Report. CHLA is a freestanding, private not-for-profit children's hospital affiliated with the USC, Keck School of Medicine. CHLA completed a new in-patient hospital tower in 2011 with over 300 beds. The Saban Research Institute at CHLA provides state of the art basic science facilities in stem cell research, transplant immunology, and developmental biology. The USC KSOM was established in 1885 and has over 1,200 full time faculty members and is home to over 25 research-oriented basic and clinical academic programs.

Academic appointments through USC Keck School of Medicine are available at a level appropriate to training and experience. The salary and academic rank would be commensurate with experience. Relocation expenses are provided, and the position includes generous benefits and retirement package.

The annual base salary range for this position is $905,904-$325,712.
