Outbound Scale Cashier

Waste Control, a Waste Connections company, is currently looking for a full-time Outbound Scale Attendantto join our team in Longview, Washington!

Rate of pay will be $22.38/HR. The shift will be a 4-3-3-4 schedule, either Sunday through every other Wednesday or every other Wednesday through Saturday; from 6:45 AM- roughly 5:45 PM (varies by last customer daily).

Responsibilities:

* Greet Customers upon leaving the Transfer Station in a Courteous manor.

* Nightly Closing Duties include Balancing Cashiers cash Drawer, as well as reconciling the Credit Card Machine or POS system.

* Weighing Customer Vehicles out, while calculating total payments for customers based on items disposed of at the Transfer Station

* Track weight information from scale to computer system and get appropriate signatures.

* Ensuring that incoming garbage loads are safe and do not contain any inappropriate material.

* Work on your feet outside throughout your shift

* Answers phone in a professional and enthusiastic fashion.

* Performs full clerical and general office duties.

* Assisting with office duties, filing and paperwork as needed.

* Ensuring that customers and employees conduct all business in a safe manner and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

* Providing general upkeep of the Scale House.

* Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate a high degree of tact, discretion, and diplomacy.

The ideal candidate will possess:

* High School Diploma or equivalent

* Prior cash/Debit handling experience required.

* Excellent customer service skills (Ability to Multitask, while interacting with Customers)

* On-the-job computer use/data entry (10 Key)

* Ability to multi-task or operate under fast Paced environment.

* Ability to stand throughout an 8-hour shift

* Ability to work outside in all weather conditions

* Ability to climb, bend, and stop to inspect containers.

* Good computer skills.

* Proficiency in both English and Spanish.

* Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
