Type of Opportunity: Part time FTE: 0.60 Job Exempt: No Work Shift: 12 Hour Nights (United States of America)

Responsibilities:

As a Surgical RN, you will provide patient-centered care throughout the perioperative process using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for assigned patients. You will prioritize and coordinate care efficiently within a standards-based framework while collaborating with surgeons and the healthcare team to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes and support for patients and families.

  • Provides patient-centered perioperative care using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient needs.

  • Prioritizes and coordinates care efficiently within a standards-based framework to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.

  • Collaborates with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the interdisciplinary team to support effective surgical care delivery.

  • Supports patients and families through education, communication, and advocacy throughout the surgical experience.

  • Maintains a safe, professional environment while ensuring appropriate use of time, resources, and clinical standards.

Qualifications:

  • Degree from an accredited nursing program required (programs under conditional status may be approved by System CNO).
  • Current New Mexico RN license or Compact State RN license required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required for all RN roles (AHA, ASHI, or American Red Cross accepted).
  • Additional certifications required based on clinical area:

  • ACLS: ED, Critical Care, Cardiovascular Lab, GI Lab, Interventional Radiology, Progressive Care, Surgical Services (Pre-Op & Recovery Room)
  • NRP: Family Birthing Center, Labor & Delivery, NICU, Mother/Baby
  • PALS: Pediatrics/Children's Services, Cardiovascular Lab, ED, GI Lab, Interventional Radiology, Surgical Services (Pre-Op & Recovery Room)
