SUMMARY: Reports to the Vice President, Ambulatory Pharmacy Services. The Director of Pharmacy Finance is a management role responsible for developing, managing, and providing strategic oversight of all financial activities within the Brown University Health (BUH) pharmacy enterprise. This role holds primary accountability for the annual operating and capital budget processes, financial reporting, financial analysis and planning, cash management, revenue cycle management, and accounts payable oversight across all pharmacy affiliate sites and programs. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversees operating and capital budgets, revenue management, financial projections, and alignment with system-wide financial goals. Consolidates system-wide financial statements, maintenance of accurate and audit-ready financial records, and reporting to executive leadership. Develops financial models, ROI analyses, longrange planning, and data-driven evaluation of financial and operational trends. Creates KPIs, dashboards, productivity tools, and identification of process improvement opportunities through performance metrics. Oversees revenue cycle policies, AR dashboards, cash collection processes, longrange RCM strategy, and management of the RCM team. Ensures accuracy of position control systems to ensure appropriate hiring and staffing across the department. Oversees requisitions, procurement, AP processes, and monthly reconciliations in accordance with financial controls. Implements and monitors financial controls, policy updates, and coordination with internal/external auditors to ensure compliance. Manages financial/operational projects, cross-functional team leadership, stakeholder alignment, policy standardization, staff education, and adherence to organizational values and compliance standards. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: BASIC KNOWLEDGE: Strong understanding of inpatient and ambulatory pharmacy systems and finance, health care finance, and hospital operating systems preferred. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in finance management in a hospital or health care setting and/or supply chain/logistics. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Direct supervision of up to 10 FTEs professional and supervisory personnel.
