Position Summary Emergency Radiologist; Neuroradiology Focus Available The Department of Radiology at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center is seeking an outstanding individual to join our Emergency Radiology section. The section practices high-acuity, team-oriented emergency radiology at a busy Level 1 trauma center serving a uniquely broad and clinically diverse patient population. The successful candidate will provide coverage in Emergency Radiology, specifically the interpretation of CT, ultrasound, radiography, and some MRI across all organ systems including neurologic, thoracic, musculoskeletal, vascular, genitourinary, gastrointestinal, gynecologic, and early obstetric. Clinical assignments involve resident or fellow supervision. All faculty contribute to resident didactic education and are encouraged to engage in clinical research or other scholarly activities. Opportunities include participation in multidisciplinary conferences and other interdisciplinary activities, particularly with our Emergency Medicine and Trauma/Acute Care Surgery colleagues. Research opportunities include diverse and growing translational imaging and image processing facilities and are supported by dedicated research and publications staff. A candidate with strong interest and/or background in Neuroradiology can also be considered for an Emergency + acute care Neuroradiology role. Clinical coverage opportunities include afternoon (12pm - 8pm), evening (4:30pm - 12am), and overnight (10pm - 7am) shifts, with flexibility to tailor scheduling around candidate interests, preferred practice patterns, and longer stretches off whenever feasible. Unlike traditional prolonged '7- on' scheduling models, the section utilizes a distinctive schedule built around shorter clinical stretches with frequent recovery periods to support wellness, circadian recovery, academic engagement, and long-term career sustainability. In-person, hybrid, and remote work options are available for many shifts. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications are: * - MD, DO, or equivalent * - Able to obtain state licensure in the state of New Mexico * - ABR board certified or board eligible in Diagnostic Radiology by contract start date Preferred Qualifications are: * - Experience or fellowship in Emergency Radiology, MSK, Neuroradiology, or Abdominal Imaging with demonstrated ability to read across the broad spectrum of emergency imaging * - A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities.
