Position Highlights:
Position: Postdoctoral Fellow-Pathology Location: Evanston, IL Compensation: Pay based on NIH guidelines ($63,480-$77,076) Full Time Hours: Monday-Friday, standard business hours
What you will do:
- Knowledge and demonstration of Endeavor Health customer service standards.
- Knowledge of Endeavor Health policies and procedures that apply to job's area of responsibility.
- Ongoing growth and development from participation in events such as workshops, in-service programs and professional meetings.
- Knowledge of the federal, state and local laws that apply to job's area of responsibility.
- Manages, organize and plans the experimental work of the laboratory, with the approval of the principal investigator.
- Designs, sets up, conducts, and correlates a variety of difficult experiments (original and standard).
- Regularly reviews scientific literature. Evaluates and recommends applicable techniques and procedures.
- Analyzes and prepares results of research in conjunction with the principal investigator(s).
- Co-authors scientific papers for presentation and publication.
- Directly supervises various levels of laboratory personnel. Includes hiring, appraising performance, recommending salary increases, and taking appropriate disciplinary action.
- As requested, teaches others to perform technically difficult experiments requiring advanced knowledge of complicated procedures and techniques.
- Consults with professional research personnel in matters of research design, experimental techniques, instrumentation, and scientific inference from research results.
- Performs related duties as required or assigned.
- Participates in study design for genetic epidemiological studies.
- Performs statistical analysis and bioinformatics analysis.
- Performs evidence-based analysis.
- Performs related duties as required or assigned.
- Participates in grant writing.
- Participates in writing and submission of peer-reviewed manuscripts.
What you will need:
- Education: Doctorate Medicine Required Or Doctorate Biology Required Or MD Medicine Required Or MD Biology Required Or PHD Medicine Required Or PHD Biology Required
- Experience: 3 Years of experience in professional research laboratory in genetic epidemiological studies. Extensive knowledge of current literature in translational, traumatic brain injury research. Experience with preparing applications to ethical review boards regulating animal studies
