The core contribution of a Production Technician is the safe stewardship and sustaining of a large Airgas Merchant Gas Air Separation Production facility. The Production Technician is dedicated to sustaining plant production, operating efficiency, regulatory compliance, and safety. Airgas is Hiring for a Production Technician in Bozrah, CT!

  • Pay: $30-$32 per hour
  • Annual Bonus: 4%
  • Work Schedule: 12 hour rotating shift
  • Travel: 0 - 5% based on business needs
  • On Call as required

Job responsibilities

  • Cultivates and shares basic skills for the process plant. Works in partnership with more senior technicians while completing training tasks.

  • Participate in Time-Out investigations, document incidents, retrieve Airgas and site-specific operating procedures, incident/injury reporting, etc in the document management software, Intelex, familiarizing oneself with the work order process and participating in essential support tasks.

  • Acquire knowledge and abilities in all plant operations including processes and equipment and becoming familiar with site-specific action plans.

  • Support and confirm on-site contractors, vendors, guests, or visitors site-specific training requirements are met and documented, and performing administrative coordination responsibilities as delegated by the Plant Manager.

  • Exhibit the understanding of and perform job duties in compliance with all local and federal governmental regulations (Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), etc.), and all company policies and procedures including Management of Change (MOC's), Pre-Startup Safety Review (PPSR's), etc.

  • Collaborate with national and local product scheduling to meet customer requirements and ensuring customer product delivery requirements, pertinent documentation and affiliated reporting requirements are completed on time and with exceptional accuracy.

  • Dedicated commitment to company policies, safety guidelines, and procedural standards, as well as championing safety within the team by being safety minded and modeling good safety practices as well as compliance to Qualification and Training program in company electronic training systems.

  • Completion of the Airgas Safety Pledge and being familiar with the requirements as well as completing introductory Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) training.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, which includes 12-hour rotating shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotation.

  • Candidates must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future. This position is not open for non-immigrant visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years experience working in an industrial facility
  • Experience dealing with cryogenics
