Biomedical Equipment Technician 2 Job Responsibilities:
Conducts comprehensive diagnostic repairs and troubleshooting on complex medical equipment, applying comprehensive electronic and mechanical knowledge. Independently manages and completes PM tasks, installations, and special projects while adhering to strict timelines and operational protocols. Supervises and evaluates vendor performance during PM activities, ensuring compliance with original manufacturer guidelines and internal standards. Maintains updated and accurate medical equipment inventories, employing rigorous inspection and tracking protocols. Ensures all service events are meticulously recorded in the CMMS, maintaining an accurate history of all maintenance work and repairs performed. Produces and analyzes detailed reports from the CMMS, providing insights into inventory management and operational efficiency for team leadership. Oversees parts inventory management to ensure optimal stock levels and efficient resource utilization. Configures and troubleshoots medical devices for network connectivity, addressing complex communication challenges as they arise. Conducts comprehensive cybersecurity assessments on medical equipment to identify and effectively mitigate risks. Configures medical equipment for wired or wireless network connectivity and data transfer. Performs troubleshooting on communication and interface issues between medical devices, medical device applications and electronic medical records systems. Demonstrate working knowledge of networked medical systems, project management skills, terminology, and methodology. Exhibits excellent customer service skills, ensuring satisfaction and support for clinical staff and other stakeholders. Mentors and trains BMET 1 staff, sharing knowledge, best practices, and technical skills to foster a collaborative team environment.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Associates degree OR 2 years relevant professional experience in addition to the minimum Experience requirement
- Experience: 3 years of relevant biomedical engineering experience
- Certification: Completion of 2 vendor training courses or equivalent electronic, Information Technology/Information Systems experience

- Experience in the operating room space
