Location: Orlando, FL Job ID: #72676 Pay Range: $27-32 ph (W2) Duration: 6 - 12 mos Job Description Serves as an engineering technician in the Structures and Environmental Test Laboratories at the Sand Lake Road Facility in Orlando, Florida reporting to the manager of the Instrumentation Group. Daily tasks include installing various types of instrumentation including but not limited to accelerometers, thermocouples, load cells, pressure transducers, and acoustic transducers. The candidate would be responsible for connecting the instrumentation to a data acquisition system with signal conditioning equipment. Contractor will be responsible for collecting the instrumentation response data and processing it for the customer into the format they prefer. Technicians will also interface with internal customers to review data and requirements to produce on-time error free response data. Required Qualifications: Candidate must have a High School diploma. Candidate must have at least 2 years experience with electrical knowledge including the ability to interpret electrical schematics and comprehend Ohm's Law for resistance, current and voltage calculations. Candidate must have at least 2 years experience with fabricating electronic cables, connector assemblies and electrical circuit boards. Candidate must have at least 2 years experience calibrating and operating digital data acquisition systems and verify they are correct and properly functioning. Candidate must have at least 2 years experience with operation of electronic test equipment. Candidate must be capable of obtaining an ATF Explosives Possessors License and a DOD Secret Security Clearance. Requires strong math, writing and communication skills. Able to drive company vehicles and golf carts Calibrate, install and properly connect instrumentation such as accelerometers, pressure and displacement transducers. Conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests in accordance with test requirements and established procedures and practices. Strong computer skills for data recording/transfer, communication, and project documentation. Desired Skills: Proficient in the operation of digital data acquisition systems Ability to fabricate electronic cables, connector assemblies and J standard solder certification. Calibrate, install and properly connect instrumentation such as accelerometers, pressure and displacement transducers. Ability to calibrate and operate digital data acquisition systems and verify their correct and properly functioning. Strong diagnostic troubleshooting skills with electrical systems (computers, vehicles, instrumentation). Candidate must be capable of obtaining an ATF Explosives Possessors License and a DOD Secret Security Clearance.
