Job description: Essential Functions The following is a list of essential functions, which may be subject to change at any time and without advance notice. Management may assign new duties, reassign existing duties, or eliminate a function.
- Identify and develop new local C&I business relationships.
- A majority of time will be spent in market generating business with a primary focus on commercial loans & deposit generation, meeting with prospects, external cold calling, attending networking functions and community events.
- Work closely with Centers of Influence (COI) to include CPA's, lawyers, and commercial real estate brokers to assist in driving new business. Also, work with sales administration to develop a well-defined sales and marketing strategy that will target individual goals.
- Effectively onboard business prospects and grow existing business customers lending, depository, and cash management relationships
- External calling to develop new and existing business opportunities
- Partner with commercial bankers & retail offices to assist with their external calling and help to develop a best in class sales culture
- Partner with multiple lines of business within Penn Community including but not limited to: commercial lending, retail branches, cash management, wealth management, and merchant services to help develop awareness of Penn Community's products and services and deepen new and existing banking relationships
Compliance
- Comply with all applicable regulations and Bank policies regarding employment and employment law.
- Participate in annual compliance and other job-related training.
- Comply with applicable bank regulations, Bank policies and procedures.
- Comply with Bank's internal privacy and ethics standards.
Relationships and Contacts Internal: Contact with internal partners such as Commercial Bankers and Branch Managers on both new and existing customer relationships. External: Monthly contact with Customers of Influence (COIs) and Bank clients as needed; Occasional contact with community and economic development leaders. Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or commensurate experience
- Minimum 5 years' business development experience, preferably in financial services, with proven abilities in direct sourcing and prospecting of new clients.
- Prior experience with building a self-generated book of referral sources.
Skills and Competencies
- Comprehensive knowledge of business banking.
- Satisfactory understanding of underwriting and credit.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good organizational and time management skills; the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Thorough knowledge of products and services offered by the Bank.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Sales Force.
- Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure to meet requirements and deadlines.
Working Conditions Traditional office environment with the ability to work remotely on a hybrid basis; the office maintains five day a week operations (Monday - Friday) with operational hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required. The position also requires the individual to be out of the office. They must have reliable transportation, be able to drive and execute the physical tasks associated with outside sales calls.
