DESCRIPTION

The UC San Diego Rady School of Management provides exceptional business education through its many academic degree programs. Under the supervision of the UC San Diego Rady School of Management Director of Graduate Admission and Recruitment, this position supports the coordination of graduate admissions-related marketing and communications projects and initiatives for six graduate programs, including the Master of Business Administration (full-time, part-time FlexEvening, and Executive), M.S. in Business Analytics, Master of Quantitative Finance, and Master of Professional Accountancy.

This position acts as the primary liaison between Rady Graduate Admissions and Recruitment and the Rady Marketing team, and when applicable, Rady Technology Services on all admissions-related marketing initiatives, including marketing project requests, email and journey communication campaigns in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and digital media campaigns.Working under Marketing's strategic direction and within Salesforce Marketing Cloud journeys defined by the Marketing team, this position executes graduate admissions email communications and content across the admissions funnel. The role applies functional, hands-on knowledge of Marketing Cloud as the platform through which admissions communications are delivered. Strategic marketing direction, journey architecture, and platform configuration are led by Rady Marketing and Rady Technology Services; this position operates within those parameters.

This position serves as the primary point of contact for all Graduate Admissions marketing needs to ensure business needs and goals met and translates all admissions needs into clear, actionable marketing briefs. This communications professional serves as the centralized intake point for all Admissions Marketing requests and interacts with the Rady School of Management Marketing team on the design, production, and distribution/delivery of all graduate admissions-related promotional materials, including internet or web materials, social media, press releases, advertisements, brochures, flyers, signage, presentations, displays, exhibits, etc. This also includes coordination of email communication with prospective students, event promotion, consistency of brand standards, presentation development, and management of updates to collateral, the website, slide decks, and other graduate admissions-related content.

Additionally, this position works with the Content Marketer on the Marketing team to ensure consistency of voice across admissions communications, align admissions messaging with broader school campaigns, and escalates content gaps or needs to Marketing.

  • This position will have a hybrid schedule; 2 days on campus (La Jolla), 3 days remote.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in a marketing role, writing marketing content, and social media content, with a strong understanding of marketing principles, concepts, strategies, and best practices. Solid knowledge of digital marketing best practices, specifically pertaining to email marketing and content marketing.

  • Experience gathering, researching, assessing, and analyzing marketing data. Experience using market data to develop, execute, or create strategies to meet targeted enrollment goals.

  • Working knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud (or comparable enterprise email/marketing automation platform) sufficient to build, schedule, and deploy email communications and to operate alongside and within configured journeys established by a marketing team.

  • Experience in monitoring tasks and projects, handling multiple projects simultaneously. Strong communication skills to ensure stakeholders know what is needed/expected. Strong project management skills. Time management skills. Prioritization skills.

  • Experience in planning and executing email marketing campaigns and content marketing campaigns through calendaring and campaign briefs.

  • Experience with consistent branding and communicating brand messaging re design work, publications, social media, email messaging, etc.

  • Experience managing and monitoring projects in collaboration with an internal/external marketing agency/department, writing project specifications, identifying deliverables, negotiating deadlines with internal/external marketing or graphics vendors/partners.

  • Experience taking proactive, tactful action to ensure that internal/external vendors have the information needed (job specs) to complete a project and to do so on time and within budget; experience monitoring project progress with an internal/external vendor, maintaining positive communications and information sharing.

  • Experience writing clear, concise, and effective communications for different media, especially email communications and other online mechanisms. Experience writing engaging copy in a variety of styles appropriate to target audiences and/or the broader public, while ensuring adherence to branding and organizational messaging. Thorough analytical and written communication skills.

  • Thorough knowledge of communication principles, media, and marketing techniques. Knowledge of marketing and promotion principles, experience in web and collateral promotion creation.

  • Strong interpersonal communication and political acumen skills. Strong cross-team collaboration and interpersonal communication skills. Experience working as a team using collaboration skills and diplomacy.

  • Bachelor's degree in communications or related field or equivalent education and/or experience.

Preferred:

  • Experience working for a university or educational institution, ideally in an Admissions or Recruitment role, and/or experience as a marketing professional interacting with clients from a University Admissions department.

  • Experience with graduate business education admissions and recruitment. Awareness of the competitive graduate business education/university marketplace and the needs of its audience.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $60,300 - $103,900 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $28.88 - $49.76

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
