Description

The Division of Pulmonary Medicine in the Department of Medicine is seeking to hire a Staff Research Associate I to support NIH-funded translational research focused on sarcoidosis and interstitial lung diseases (ILD). The incumbent will contribute to a variety of research activities, including clinical data management, database development, data analysis, biospecimen processing, and study coordination in support of ongoing grant-funded projects. Working closely with investigators and research staff, this role offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in clinical and translational research while contributing to studies aimed at advancing the understanding of pulmonary disease mechanisms and improving patient outcome

Hourly range: $28.69-$34.21

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science in biology, public health, data science, bioinformatics, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated ability to set and meet internal deadlines, work independently, use judgment and make decisions
  • Knowledge of basic genetics, immunology, and biochemical principles.
  • Ability to organize raw data into a comprehensible form.
  • Willingness to work with human biospecimens with adequate safety precautions
  • Ability to prioritize and organize projects through multiple phases. Ability to meet deadlines and follow through on multiple tasks simultaneously with careful attention to detail, accuracy, completeness and thoroughness.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive material with discretion, tact, sensitivity and diplomacy.

Preferred:
  • Experience with research data management or analysis
  • Ability to use basic laboratory equipment, including centrifuge.
