OSHA 500 Safety Training Manager New York, NY Pay: $70.00 per hour 26-05953 Job Summary The OSHA 500 SafetyTraining Manageris responsible for developing, administering, and delivering occupational health and safety training programs while supporting safety oversight, regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and organizational safety culture initiatives. This leadership role oversees safety training development, conducts field safety assessments, analyzes safety performance metrics, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to promote a safe and compliant work environment. The ideal candidate possesses extensive construction safety experience, strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, and demonstrated expertise in curriculum development and safety training delivery. Job Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and deliver occupational health and safety training programs for employees, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Design curriculum, instructional materials, and educational programs related to construction safety, regulatory compliance, and workplace health and safety.
- Manage training programs, processes, systems, and tools to address organizational training needs.
- Lead initiatives that strengthen safety culture, improve regulatory compliance, and reduce operational risk.
- Conduct classroom instruction, workshops, and safety training sessions.
- Perform field audits, inspections, and assessments to identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and compliance concerns.
- Participate in high-risk work activities and ensure appropriate safety controls and risk mitigation measures are implemented.
- Analyze safety performance metrics, trends, incidents, and audit findings to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations for leadership regarding safety performance and compliance initiatives.
- Maintain productive relationships with regulatory agencies, contractors, consultants, and other external stakeholders.
- Participate in health and safety committee meetings and support organizational safety initiatives.
- Provide leadership and guidance regarding day-to-day safety operations and compliance matters.
- Support incident investigations and corrective action implementation as required.
- Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA regulations, construction safety standards, and organizational policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Construction Management, Education, Public Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- Minimum of seven years of construction safety experience.
- Minimum of four years of training, curriculum development, instructional delivery, or supervisory experience.
- OSHA 500 Authorized Outreach Trainer Certification required.
- OSHA 30 Construction Certification required.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction safety practices, and occupational health and safety principles.
- Experience developing, administering, and delivering safety training programs.
- Experience conducting safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
- Strong presentation, facilitation, and classroom instruction skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related business software applications.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to lead initiatives, influence stakeholders, and promote a positive safety culture.
- Ability to travel to project sites and field locations as required.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Construction Management, Education, Public Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field required.
Work Experience
- Minimum of seven years of construction safety experience required.
- Minimum of four years of experience in safety training, curriculum development, instructional design, or supervisory roles required.
- Experience developing and administering OSHA-compliant safety training programs required.
- Experience conducting construction site audits, hazard assessments, and safety inspections required.
- Experience supporting environmental health and safety (EHS) programs preferred.
- Experience within transportation, engineering, architecture, construction management, infrastructure, or related industries preferred.
- Experience with Safety Management Systems preferred.
- Experience with state and local construction codes preferred.
