Job Summary

The CDL Class B Driver is responsible for safely transporting heating, air conditioning, and related products to customer locations while supporting warehouse operations. This role combines commercial driving, material handling, customer service, and warehouse support to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. The ideal candidate will have commercial driving experience, forklift experience, strong customer service skills, and a commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.

Job Responsibilities



  • Safely operate Class B commercial vehicles to deliver products to customer locations.
  • Follow scheduled delivery routes and ensure on-time deliveries.
  • Load, unload, and secure materials in accordance with safety standards and transportation regulations.
  • Verify delivery documentation and obtain customer signatures upon delivery.
  • Communicate regularly with supervisors regarding delivery status and any issues encountered.
  • Pick up customer returns and verify returned materials against supporting documentation.
  • Retrieve local purchase orders and return all required paperwork.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Maintain compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety requirements.
  • Report vehicle defects, maintenance concerns, accidents, or traffic violations promptly.
  • Fuel and maintain assigned vehicles as needed.
  • Assist with warehouse operations, including loading and unloading trucks, staging materials, and supporting inventory activities.
  • Verify delivery accuracy and ensure all required delivery documentation is completed and returned.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service during all customer interactions.
  • Support branch operations and perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Work overtime as required to support business needs.


Job Requirements



  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Must possess the required state-issued self-certification designation of Non-Excepted Interstate and provide proof.
  • Minimum one year of Class B commercial driving experience.
  • CDL must have been held for a minimum of one year.
  • Experience operating a sit-down forklift for loading and unloading materials.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Comfortable using smartphones and mobile technology for work-related communication and tasks.
  • Ability to safely lift, move, and handle materials throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to following all safety procedures, DOT regulations, and company policies.


Work Experience



  • Minimum one year of commercial Class B driving experience.
  • Experience operating sit-down forklifts in a warehouse, distribution, or delivery environment.
  • Experience providing direct customer service in a delivery or logistics setting.
