Department Description:
- Boston Children's Hospital (BCH) Department of Radiology, provides a full range of inpatient and outpatient imaging services. Radiology Imaging Modalities include Magnetic Resonance (MRI), Computerized Tomography (CT), Nuclear Medicine, Diagnostic Radiology (Fluoroscopy and X-ray), Ultrasound.
- The Radiology nursing team is involved throughout the continuum of care before, during and after the imaging process, including anesthesia and anxiolysis supported imaging. Nurses work independently and as part of an expert care team that includes radiologists, technologists, anesthesiologists and clinical assistants (CAs).
- There is also a post-procedural /anesthesia care unit (PACU) that serves all patients who receive anesthesia in Radiology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing patients throughout the continuum of care before, during and after imaging procedures. Modalities include: Fluoroscopy, MRI, CT, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, X-Ray, and Radiology PACU.
- Patient assessment, procedural care and recovery from anesthesia.
- Potential to rotating through the assessment role of chart review, patient phone assessment and patient care coordination prior to anxiolysis and anesthesia for a variety of Radiology imaging studies. Occasional potential to work remote when in the assessment role.
- Potential to rotate to the BCH Needham Radiology Satellite.
- Working 36 hours, day/night 7:00am-7:30pm, 8:00am-8:30pm, 9:00am-9:30pm/7:00pm-7:30am, every 3rd weekend with an average of 1-2 weeknight call shifts per 6 week schedule. Full time nights may be available if desired.
Minimum Qualifications Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of Critical Care, Radiology, ED, peri-operative, procedural or Inpatient experience preferred.
- Pediatric experience and PALS certification preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent critical thinking, and superb collaborative skills.
- Demonstrated excellence in both verbal and written communication.
Licensure/ Certifications:
- Current Massachusetts license as a Registered Nurse (RN)
The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting. Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
