DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports the Digital Director in building strong digital communication for the Department of Health. The work focuses on creating, analyzing, and adapting social media and digital content that aligns with agency goals. As a Deputy Digital Director, you will perform the following duties:

  • Social Media Writing: Create social media content that promotes public health information
  • Digital Content Design: Develop graphics, videos, and other digital materials with direction from the Digital Director
  • Trend Monitoring: Study social media trends and suggest ways to include public health messaging
  • Content Analysis: Review social media comments and analytics to adjust topics and tone
  • Campaign Support: Assist in reviewing digital campaigns and website content updates
  • Project Coordination: Oversee special social media projects as assigned by leadership

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week, with the remaining 3 days required in the office. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of professional communications experience and a bachelor's degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience

Additional Requirements:

  • You must possess a valid driver's license.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
