Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team. The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is a 20-bed tertiary and quaternary medical/surgical intensive care unit that cares for critically ill neonates through adolescents. The majority of PICU patients arrive through our in-house, nurse-managed Transport Team and Access Center for care that can only be provided at UCSF Medical Center. Responsible for maintaining the knowledge and abilities essential to the performance of stated behaviors. Carries out legal responsibilities within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act. Accountable to the NURSE SVC SUPV 2 for overall work performance. Required Qualifications:
