Tymir.Black@yoh.com https://www.linkedin.com/in/tymir-black-035914111/ ABOUT THE TEAM As the Client's first In-House Counsel, you'll be a strategic partner to the business, owning and building the legal function from the ground up. You'll work directly with the founders and leadership team on matters ranging from commercial contracts and regulatory compliance to data privacy and corporate governance. This is a high-ownership, high-impact role within a company operating at the intersection of AI and financial services-an area where the legal and regulatory landscape is evolving rapidly and where sound legal guidance is critical. About the Role The Client is experiencing significant growth, operating in a highly regulated industry, and closing complex agreements with some of the largest financial institutions in the country. They are seeking an attorney who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and serve as a true business partner, helping drive the organization forward while effectively managing risk. As the first in-house counsel, you will oversee the full legal function from day one. Responsibilities include commercial contracting, enterprise sales support, regulatory and compliance guidance, privacy and AI governance, employment matters, and board-level corporate governance. You will be embedded within the business, providing practical, business-focused legal advice that enables growth rather than creating unnecessary obstacles. In addition, you will build and scale the legal infrastructure needed to support the company's continued expansion, including contract templates, policies, governance frameworks, playbooks, and operational processes. This role offers exposure to a wide range of complex and evolving legal areas, including fintech regulation, AI governance, data privacy, KYB/AML compliance, equity financing, and enterprise SaaS contracting. The Client values individuals who can operate with urgency, maintain high standards, and are excited by the opportunity to build and shape a legal function within a high-growth organization.
