About the Role:

Reporting to the Director of Community Standards and Care, the Assistant Director for Student Conduct plays a vital role in fostering a safe, supportive, and student-centered campus environment. This position is responsible for overseeing the investigation and resolution of violations of the NKU Code of Community Standards and Student Rights through the promotion of accountability and student development.

The Assistant Director role is highly collaborative, and the incumbent will serve as a trusted resource and point of contact for students, faculty, and staff regarding matters related to student conduct. This position is required to manage confidential and sensitive information in accordance with state and federal guidelines, including but not limited to FERP A, the Clery Act, and the Kentucky Campus Due Process Act.

In addition to compliance, the Assistant Director takes an active role in educating the campus community on student rights and responsibilities. Additional priorities for this position are training and developing hearing officers within University Housing and training University conduct board members to adjudicate potential violations of the NKU Code of Community Standards and Student Rights.

Description of Duties

  • Oversee the management of the student conduct process in accordance with state and federal guidelines including, but not limited to case delegation, maintaining case records, adjudicating potential violations of the Code of Community Standards and Student Rights, and sanctioning. This also includes training University Housing staff to adjudicate potential violations in residence halls.

  • Oversee the University Conduct Board hearing process, including recruiting and training University Conduct Board members.

  • Serve as a liaison to campus partners including but not limited to University Housing, NKU PD, Title IX, Norse Violence Prevention, and Admissions

  • In collaboration with campus partners, provide educational programs and trainings for the campus community.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience required.

  • Experience supporting college students, with an understanding of the needs of commuter and first-generation populations.

  • Experience with student conduct processes or similar student support functions.

  • Ability to assess student needs and develop responsive programs and services.

  • Demonstrated skills in planning, assessment, and budget management.
